what we do
New Direction Recovery offers a range of services to encourage you and to help you understand and overcome with a biblical perspective the struggles that prevent you from living in hope. However, please remember one key aspect: Your recovery is your responsibility.
We can encourage you. We can teach you. We can and do pray for you. We can equip you with scripture and community. We can connect you with services who can shepherd you through a time we are not able to help. But ultimately, we cannot repair what is broken. We cannot replace what is missing. We cannot rebuild what was destroyed.
First Friday Feast
On the first Friday of every month, we share a meal and enjoy fellowship. This allows everyone in attendance opportunity to meet and to greet others with whom they may share and learn about life in recovery.
Music
With Curated Video, every Friday we begin with a celebration! This is the dividing line between the troubles of our days and our time in recovery.
fellowship
Almost always, a major factor to the struggles we face is the company we keep. This means we may have to leave others behind. But it also means we make new relationships: Ones from which we are inspired, others by which we are challenged, and others still so we may help as we have been helped.
Testimony
A testimony is not a recounting of the horrors through which we suffered. A testimony is the proclamation of a restored hope. It is not just for the one who tells. It is also for the one who listens: To hear the stories of our recovered friends and family—There is no better healing.
teaching
Every second, third, and fourth Friday of the month, we hear a bible-informed lesson concerning either one of the 7 Core Values of Recovery or a particular struggle. Each lesson is specifically designed to bring one such as us back from oblivion and into the shining light.
Group sharing
We share our stories so others can help us through the struggle. We need people praying for us. We need people who understand our losses. We need people who understand the hope for which we seek. We need people with whom we can share triumph. We need these things.
